It Must Be Seen To Be Believed

Would you believe me if I said on the right is a deck of Wonder Woman playing cards? Of course you would because that's what it says on the box. But would you also believe me if I told you that little box on the left is a PC?

The Porch Gods delivered a Geekom IT15 mini PC this afternoon and I'm absolutely floored by its performance. It has the Intel Core 9-285H processor, which is like stuffing a Chevy short block crate motor in between the front fenders of a Mazda Miata. It has 32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD drive, which is double the memory and storage of my MSI GS66 Stealth laptop.

This is also the first PC I've ever had where all the peripherals are connected via Bluetooth. I have a Logitech MX Master 3S mouse and a Logitech MX Keys S keyboard for inputs, and sound is delivered via a Bose Soundlink Flex portable speaker small enough to tuck beneath the 32" Dell gaming monitor I bought over the summer. My venerable Bose QC45 headphone also sound excellent while streaming music or videos.

God, I love updated technology.

  1. I love the things are getting more manageable in size, but things continue to get too small how can you even view them? I mean my tablet at work is very small and it's great to do portable work on but hell I can't see it.

    1. That's why I have a half dozen pairs of reading glasses!

  2. I don't know if I could use one that small. You must have better eyesight than I do. Happy New Year!!

    1. Oh, the computer itself is small but any display will hook up to it via HDMI. But if you're referring to the labels on the front and back for the different ports then yes reading glasses are necessary.
