WHAT’S ON MY MIND

Money. As of this writing, my investments gave back all their gains from October going forward. Considering I’m likely the most diversified investor you know, that’s really bad news for everyone else. 

WHERE I’VE BEEN

The hobby shop. I picked up spare batteries for the Maverick DOHA basher and the 1/30 scale Ford Bronco over the weekend. They were surprisingly inexpensive, far less than a bottle of wine.

WHERE I’M GOING

Gas prices be damned, I will not be denied my monthly Meritage lunch. The menu remains unchanged, but I’ll wait until I get there to decide what to order.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

After I canceled Crunchyroll, I bookmarked a handful of vintage animes on HIDIVE to watch this month. I don’t recall their names offhand, but they should be entertaining. 

WHAT I’M READING

Various manga titles such as Cheeky Brat, The Dangers In My Heart, and a new one called My Favorite VTuber Is Scary IRL whose female protagonist is socially awkward, not scary. 

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

I recently discovered every song played on GTA Online’s The Lab radio station was sold as a music collection. I’m now listening to songs like Speedline Miracle Masterpiece, Welcome To Los Santos, and K.Y.S.A. to my heart’s content offline.

WHAT I’M EATING

Black truffle sirloin with mushroom, but the thrill is gone. The packaging is smaller, and inside there’s more asparagus and less sirloin. Even with cauliflower rice risotto and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon a serving wasn’t filling enough for a proper meal.

WHO NEEDS A SLAP

I had my taxes done incorrectly by that company with the speedy name. Again. It seems listing one of my bank’s dividends twice on a supplementary dividend schedule is a feature, not an error. They’re correcting my returns to reflect the correct AGI, but now I’ll wait months for the IRS and California to refund my overpayments.

WHO GOT A FIST BUMP

The Porch Gods’s messenger that delivered RC upgrade parts and tools to Le Crash Pad. I think he’s the only person I met last week that didn’t look like someone had pissed in his cereal bowl.

WHAT I’M PLANNING

In my head I’m formulating a schedule to perform the 1/30 scale Bronco upgrades. Once the vehicle arrives I’ll install the servo, rims/tires and aluminum bumpers. I’ll likely do the engine, transmission and skid plate upgrades on Friday. The axle covers, steering linkage and driveshafts can be swapped out next Monday, and perhaps I’ll install the high clearance suspension links at the same time to complete its transformation. 

WHAT MADE ME SMILE

Playing with the RC vehicles both indoors and outside is a well needed respite from current events. My GTA Online character has now made $1.9 billion dollars and she has over $150 million in the bank. Other than those things, it's really hard to find reasons to smile lately.
