Project Darkness, Part I
With the blessing of The Porch Gods, Darkness's upgrades are now officially underway. I assembled her new Injora wheels and tires this evening, then put them on her current chassis. I really like the white wheels with the Cyber Orange and black.
As for Darkness's stock wheels and tires, they were mounted on Aqua to keep with her "recycling" theme. She now has higher ground clearance due to their slightly larger size, and with Rose's original Injora motor she runs a lot better now.
I also assembled Darkness's new aluminum frame and skid plate, which will lower her center of gravity and provide more ground clearance. The tape on each corner is to secure the screws to the frame until I attach her stock front and rear bumpers.Earlier in the week, I received her custom license plates. These will be affixed to her front grille and rear bumper. My eye doctor appointment was unexpectedly postponed this afternoon, so I took the money I had set aside for the exam and purchased all of Darkness's upgrade parts in one go. Everything is made by Injora except for a Traxxas Pro Scale light kit that will give her working headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and hazard lights that work with the existing electronic programming.
I can't wait to post future updates on this build.
