Recycling & Other Thoughts

 
You probably have no idea what you're looking at, but this is Luka's original rolling chassis. Her axles and suspension parts attached to the skid plate in the center. Her motor and transmission are mounted atop it, and the servo that turns the front wheels is mounted on the axle. The original shocks are also attached to the axles.

Sometime later today The Porch Gods will deliver a body, a battery, a transmitter and receiver, and an ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) to finish the build. In case the stock shocks won't cut it, the Gods will also bring Injora high clearance suspension links and big bore shocks.

I spent over $100 on everything noted above, but it's better to breathe life into those spare parts than throw them away. As for Rose, I saved her skid plate, servo, motor, transmission, and axles. They can be used as spares for this build.

It's hard to believe it's Spring when it's been Summer all week. Apparently taking Miku out for sunset errands and eating Talenti gelato a couple of hours after dinner does wonders to cool down in the evening hours. I'll have to remember that the next time we have unseasonably hot weather... which is next week. Ugh!

The tax addendum situation lingers, and I have no idea when or how it will end. Will TurboTax fix their mistakes? Will the IRS notice the error and process a partial refund? Will I eat the extra cost to both federal and state treasuries? 

The only reason why I've remained calm is because I'm treating it as I'll never see that money again.

UPDATE: I will get my money back. I'm waiting for the updated returns to be ready for review.

You'll need to enlarge the picture, but check out the license plates I added to Luka and Rose. In case you're wondering why it's Luka 03 on her plate, Megurine Luka was the third Crypton Media vocaloid created after Hatsune Miku and the twins Kagamine Rin & Len. Her code name is CV03.
