Monday Night Musings

WHAT’S ON MY MIND

Three wise men. No, not the ones in The Bible. I’m talking about Franklin, Michael and Trevor from GTA V.

For the past week I’ve played a new game in Story Mode. With over four years of game mechanics experience I’m thoroughly enjoying this second go around with very few failed missions. I’ll likely choose the ending where all three protagonists survive.

WHERE I’VE BEEN

The dentist and the optometrist. Those appointments were postponed until today due to jury duty. I also visited a neighborhood electronics recycling events to dispose of excess RC parts and power banks.

WHERE I’M GOING

The winery. The restaurant menu changes this week, and I look forward to eating something new for lunch. I’ll bring the SP11 so I can edit my novel in the tasting room while sipping a glass of wine after my meal.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

I returned to SlingTV as of Thursday morning. Between that and SiriusXM, I’m saving $10 per month versus YouTubeTV and getting more value for my money.

WHAT I’M READING

I read A Couple of Cuckoos, Volume 28 and then started The Man Book by Nick Freitas, the former Virginia state representative. Both are entertaining in their own ways.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Watercolors (Channel 66) on SiriusXM. I streamed smooth jazz during a recent writing session, then got so caught up in the music I kept listening for a good half hour after I shut down the SP11.

WHO GOT A MAKEOVER

I purchased a silver Defender body for Yukino, which begins the final step of my TRX-4M mods. Rather than own and maintain several rock crawlers, I’ll purchase a spare body for each of them so I can change their colors according to my whims.

WHAT I’M EATING

The local Vons serves pretzel bun sandwiches that are nearly as addictive as avocado oil potato chips. I should probably limit myself to one a week going forward.

WHO DESERVES A SLAP

Dianna Russini, for turning Kevin Goldschmidt into the latest cautionary tale why men must vet women before committing to them.

WHO DESERVES A FIST BUMP

The dealership for replacing Artoria’s battery and performing her oil change in a matter of hours without an appointment. Also the Uber driver who drove me to the dealership. I tipped him more than the fare itself.

WHAT I’M PLANNING

I’m two thirds of the way into this round of edits, and I’ll likely add a nighttime editing session during Padres games to speed up the process. Once this round is completed, then I’ll take a short break before beginning the final round.

WHAT MADE ME SMILE

Someone made an AI video with Date A Live characters redrawn in 90s anime style, and I've got two words for this retro version of Kurumi Tokisaki. Ara ara!

Oh, and the Las Vegas Raiders killed it in the 2026 NFL Draft.
