I'll likely begin the next, and hopefully final, round of edits later today. But before I begin, I need to get a few things off my mind so I can approach the Prologue with crystal clarity.
On Monday I was very lucky. The shopping center I frequent is roughly a half mile away from the site of the mass casualty event. I bought groceries about fifteen minutes earlier than usual out of my desire to complete shock maintenance on Darkness and Yukino before I had lunch. That's the only reason why I wasn't caught up in that mess. I was carrying groceries to my front porch at about the time the mayhem started.
As a lifelong resident of America's Most Costliest City, I have mixed feelings about everything. Rather than ramble on about what I've discovered about the underage suspect, the center's past connection with 9/11, its current leader and his family members' inflammatory social media comments I'll just say this: I hope things don't escalate from here.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...
