Some Birthday Pictures

Every time I do a three day, two night stay in Temecula Valley I need the trip to get off on the right foot. I can't think of a better way to do that than a pint of 805 paired with a blackened chicken sandwich and fries drizzled with ketchup and ranch dressing at The Old Town Pub.

I wish I could have this more often than once a month. While Esmae approves, I'm sure my Primary Care Physician wouldn't like that.

Despite temperatures that reached as high as 102 degrees, I visited Danza del Sol to pick up a pair of stemless wine glasses and a bottle of 2022 GSM. This Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre blend was a great match for my Taco Tuesday meal from Rosa's Cantina.

The ground beef tacos, when drizzled with Del Taco's Del Inferno hot sauce, played up the heat. The spices in the refried beans gave the wine a different type of heat that had more of a short term punch than the tacos. The Spanish rice was the palette cleanser, merely playing along with the wine. For tomorrow night's dinner, I may visit a new to me restaurant to pick up a dinner that could be an even better match for this blended red. Stay tuned.

The only bad thing that happened on my birthday is the future weather forecast. As of this posting, there's a chance of thunderstorms in the area after two o'clock that afternoon. If that forecast holds, I may have lunch at a new place that promises to be scrumptious.
