Random Thoughts From Vinewood Hills

 
I haven't taken any photos in about a week, so why not sneak in a screenshot of one of two new mansions my GTA Online character owns? Anyway, here's what's on my mind...

I'm fed up with the malaise. I'm not experiencing it, but I sense it. Whenever I'm out and about, I've noticed hardly anyone socializes anymore. People keep to themselves, or worse yet they'll shoot you a strange look that makes me want to ask them, "Blink once if you're okay, twice if you need help." It's soul crushing enough to make me want to stay home on most days.

I have my table top Christmas tree near the front window as per custom, but only three neighbors on the block have bothered to put up decorations this year. Considering there's plenty of households with children here, that's speaks volumes about how everyone is doing without asking them. It's like The Mercurial Tangerine is giving us all a lump of coal regardless if we've been bad or good.

The only things I bought for Christmas besides the replacement crown were Ford (F) and Best Buy (BBY) stock. I had quietly sold all of the stocks in my trading account a few weeks ago, so I had that money sitting in a money market fund doing nothing. With CD rates falling below 4% and the beating these stocks have taken in recent weeks, an annual dividend yield at or near 5% makes them a very appealing place to put some of that cash back to work long term.
