My GTA Life In Miniature
Over the past few days I've rediscovered hobby shops, perhaps the last remaining male safe space left on the planet. Or at least it seemed that way based on my visits. Today I bought my first RC car, a 1940s Dodge Power Wagon, in over four decades and I love it. In GTA Online I have a single cab model called the Bravado Duneloader that I love puttering around San Andreas in. A vintage truck just has that cool factor a modern four wheeler just can't replicate.
Since I shot this photo, I inserted 4mm spacers on its front shocks and 6mm spacers in the rear to increase its ground clearance. Will that be its only modification? It's a great trail runner on dirt and mulch in the yard, but if I'm going to do any serious rock crawling then I'll need to open my wallet a smidge to make it heavier and more powerful.
I also picked up two Goat Guns, die cast models of the real deal. On the left is the "Uncle Sam" version of the 1911 pistol designed by Browning. Its handle and trigger was used by Rockstar Games to design the AP Pistol in GTA Online. The FN Herstal FN-SCAR rifle is not in GTA Online, but this military rifle closely resembles the Carbine Rifle MkII rifle I use frequently during gameplay. I also paid extra to add the 4x scope and the Ranger grip to it.
