WHAT’S ON MY MIND

The finish line. I put the finishing touches on Darkness this afternoon, and here’s a picture with her new brake lights on. I’m so happy with this build that… well, keep reading and you’ll see what happened today.

WHERE I’VE BEEN

Callaway Vineyard & Winery, aka The Winery. I only belong to one wine club now, so it makes perfect sense to give my favorite day trip destination a simpler name right?

WHERE I’M GOING

I may return to The Winery as soon as next weekend. My wine club order may be ready for pickup, and it’s been a few months since I’ve hung out at the members only viewing deck.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

Padres baseball. Win, lose or choke, Friar Faithful ‘till I croak. Or until they move. I’m trying not to think about that possibility while the team is up for sale.

WHAT I’M READING

I really enjoyed the latest volume of I Have A Crush At Work. The main characters got married, and there’s only two volumes left to see how their story ends.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

For unknown reasons I cranked up Meat Loaf on Artoria’s stereo system today. I didn’t drive like a Bat Out Of Hell or find Paradise By The Dashboard Light, but I loved hearing those songs from my childhood.

WHAT I’M EATING

I had baked salmon, chicken alfredo, and yuzu citrus chicken with Pinot Gris for three consecutive dinners. That was a wonderful way to savor that bottle.

WHO DESERVES A SLAP

There’s so many people who deserve one, but I don’t want to end up in Urgent Care for x-rays. Moving on… 

WHO GETS A FIST BUMP

Everyone who was on the road alongside me today. For whatever reason everyone was calm. If only every other errand I run could be as peaceful.

WHAT I’M PLANNING

A trolley route. I received a jury duty summons, and in this town you can’t get a free lunch or free parking. With how people behave on public transportation nowadays, I fear my jury duty experience could become One Day/One Trial/One Punch. I’m not looking forward to this.

WHAT MADE ME SMILE

I had so much fun modding Darkness, so I decided to tackle one last TRX-4M build before I drift into the easy life of maintaining a fleet of RC rock crawlers. 

Meet “Yukino”, a classic Land Rover Defender in all black. I’ve already swapped out her stock wheels for Injora chrome wheels and Luka’s old tires, which add to her “Ice Queen” persona. Beneath the body and bumpers, she’s identical to Darkness so modding her will be easy peasy.
